Ugh

Been sick the last few days with some kind of bug, but I think I'm finally getting over it.

Tomorrow, I have to go out and get a couple of the horses penned so that I can load them Saturday morning and take em up to D, who is going through horses to ride at the sale barn just about as fast as he can borrow them.. I'm taking him Legs and Red, because they need the work.

I also have to unload stuff from the trailer so that I have something to haul them IN.

Saturday, take the ponies to D, and then on up to another sale barn to see if I can't pick up a goat.

Yes, I said a goat.

See, if you've got a (one, singular) billy goat with your cattle, the goat will chase off coyotes.

Llamas will do the same thing, but I just don't want to deal with one of those nasty suckers.... much more work than a goat. Not to mention they're flat out mean and they bite and spit.

So, I need to go to the auction and see if I can get a big ugly billy goat.

That is, if I can come up with a pickup that will pull the trailer and two horses that far, and back with the goat. Farmmom's truck is having some serious issues, and I really don't want to be crawling under the hood with duct tape every ten minutes.

Nope, not joking. Kinda wish I was.....

I've got a couple of bull headed scientists I could give you on a long term loan... :-0

Eh, send em over. We'll toss em out with a wire roller and let them argue over which end of the wire would be more efficient to start with.

Oh don't tempt me... :-)

Hey, as long as ya'll are paying them, they can argue in the middle of nowhere where no one will have to listen :P

Duct tape? You can't fix an engine with duct tape! You need baling wire!

The duct tape isn't to *fix* it... it's to keep from breaking the fan every time it backfires... sort of an over-pressure valve.

Which also means every time it backfires you have to pull over (engine dies, no choice in that anyway) and replace the duct tape.

Just to clearify matters we are asking this poor pickup to do things that make the ignition system say WTF??? and repeat about all the time it runs . It is running on LPG thro a " farmer conversion " which pays no attention to such things as computers or even injectors . Now not our choice on this pickup , but when you take a semi modern pickup designed to run fuel injected and inflict a naturally aspirated fuel system on it that cannot talk to the ignition system it creates issues . In fact i will go so far as to say that it will make the poor " computer " some what schizophrenic, if not psychotic . Note to self/others ... A $300 regulator , $400 of expertly ( not a joke ) welded stainless steel air flow tubing , and a 150 gallon tank of Propane does not make an alternative fule ready vehicle . On a side note the " vapor " line of that tank works well to air up implement tires , and if needed even run air tools , tho it cuts the life of the tool . Yes i do " KNOW " so just keep visualizing me running a 1/2 inch impact wrench to tighten a nut made of black cats while i cheerfully dangle a cigar from my mouth lol .

Yikes. I had a run in with a professional LP system. Four hundred dollars later, the demon was finally banished to eco-hell and the smell of burnt gasoline was enjoyed by all.
