A New Ride

Got the new wheels today, a 2000 Ford Taurus this time.

And, to help ward off large game, Farmmom and I whipped up a special keychain for it.... ( ok, mostly Farmmom but I sanded off the worst of the sharp edges...)

In a pinch, it would also make a fairly decent punch dagger. Mother Nature's Multitool....

Just remember, when you sound your horn, it's the one in the center of the wheel, not the one dangling from the key fob . . .

Ford Taurus doesn't really fit my Mad Max style hopes for your next vehicle.

Oh well. We can always install a flame thrower so that any future ambulatory dinner can become instant BBQ.

From the life and times (or repair bills) of two taurii, if it's around 100K miles, check not only your belts and hoses, but also your air conditioner compressor, the gearbox, ball joints, and starter.

But then, my last two taurii cost $995 and $3000, respectively, so I knew I wasn't getting maintenance-free rides, and the first one got awful beat up by my learning to drive in winter on it. May this one serve you long and faithfully!

That depends on whether it's got the SHO engine...

Good luck with the new car, FarmGirl.

(WV: 'curbable'. Meaning?)

A ride is a ride, and yeah, at least you have a purse to put that 'weapon' in :-)

You can also use it to knap flint. You never know when you might need man obsidian dagger.

You know, the anti-gun crowd says a woman should have her car keys in her hand to use as a weapon. That peice of antler is goin' 'em one better. I still wouldn't depend on it when you have your sidearm.

Good luck with the car.

That car's weakness is the transmission. If is hasn't been done, get a tranny flush. Should run around $120.
